I think the best combi boiler would be either the Viessmann vitodens 200 which comes with internal controls that run full pure weather compensation. The boiler also has a stainless steel heat exchanger and up to 12 years warranty. The Vaillant ecotec is another fantastic combi boiler that I recommend and fit for a lot of my clients.

In my opinion the Vaillant EcoTec plus range ticks all the boxes. They’re very quiet. They’re very efficient and modulate right down, particularly with Vaillant’s own controls. The casings are easy to fit and remove. All the parts are designed to be engineer friendly and easy to work on. The parts are easily accessible and stocked by most wholesalers. The manufacturers technical team always pick up after a short time and have never let me down.

Any boiler that can modulate down to 3/4kw and can be range rated to the heat loss of the home. Also the flow temps can be set low at 55 degrees so the boiler condenses more. A boiler that can use load compensation controls thermostat or weather compensation for maximum efficiency.

Baxi 600/800 first class after sales service , quality design and no plastics manifolds unlike Worcester Bosch. Just replaced a 27 year old Baxi Bermuda I installed with a 630 combination boiler. I always used to fit Worcester but after fitting a combi Baxi 800 iv never looked back. Those rubbish jigs and the fact they look a total monstrosity now ill try and swerve them as much as possible. My go to boiler is the Ideal Logic Max. 10 years warranty out of the box and reasonably priced. For a top end boiler I’d recommend the Ideal Vogue. Which in my opinion is the best on the market. The ideals are as good as any other boiler but what makes them great is the support and customer service from the manufacturer.

There are a lot of boilers on the market now and the once leading brand has been caught up and out done in some cases by others, a combi boiler depends on your needs and not all will exactly suit, our go to boiler at the moment is the Baxi 800, price wise they are decent value, installing wise it’s great, filter and filling kit usually supplied in the box depending on where purchased from, and 10yr warranty, aftercare is pretty good not had any customers complain as yet!

Viessmann 100, has the best modulation ratio on the market meaning it can use the least energy as your property starts to heat. Our favourite combi boiler would be the Vaillant Ecotec Plus, they are well built and easy to work on. Repairing and servicing can be achieved in under an hour, which keeps the cost down for the end user. Most engineers have their preferences and will tend to stick to those. I personally like Worcester Bosch and Baxi, I covered a contract which mainly had Worcester and their warranty is unrivalled and parts are cheap, with that said I felt let down with the new 2000 & 8000 ranges. The Baxi does seem better built and is more installer friendly, Iv not had to use their warranty in 15 years of service which can only be a good thing.

For me, it's Intergas. The rapid, hre and eco rf ranges offer installation flexibility unrivalled by any other combi on the market. Coupled with the fact that they have only four moving parts, a twin pass heat exchanger (which means if the pump fails, you can still have hot water, which you cannot in the same failure on a conventional combi using a plate to plate heat exchanger).

Every engineer has their own preferences. But I find the baxi range a fantastic product. Easy to install, cupboard fit, very quiet (had a customer comment how quiet it was... all engineers have their preferences. there are good quality budget options and good and bad expensive ones. Personally we suggest Main (by Baxi) for a top quality budget option or Baxi 800 series or Vaillant ecotec plus for the premium boiler options. But no matter which boiler you have installed it will only be as good as the installation and maintenance. Even if installing a cheap boiler don't judge choose the cheapest installer - them cutting corners will cause you problems in the long term and cause your boiler to die sooner. Ask the engineer about what they will do, compare this to other engineers. Ensure they do everything that regulations and the manufacturers instructions ask for (if you don't know you can ask someone - we will be happy to advise).

The best combis in my opinion are, Vaillant then Worcester. Easy to fit, well built and they last well. For a slightly smaller budget I’d recommend Ideal. The best thing with all of these is the aftercare and warranties. I can fit all of these with confidence. Particularly vaillant and the aftercare and warranty program is unparalleled.

My personal preference is ATAG. The warranty and back up service is second to none. Stainless steel heat exchanger and brass hydraulics. Very few call backs on these. Very versatile for larger systems and the Economiser version gives superior hot water performance. The ATAG One controller adds further efficiency and allows remote monitoring of the system.

We generally go for Worcester or vaillant boilers due to the quality of build, after care being of a very high standard and from years of installing them they last the test of time very well. For a budget model when required we’d be happy installing ideal boilers, less warranty but they’ve been solid for us.

we have probably fitted every boer on the market over the 30 years on buisiness, but the favourite boiler at the moment is definately the 600/800 range. we have been fitting these now for the last 18 months and out of around 150 boilers have only had an issue with 2, but with baxis excelent back up service both were repaired next day. well done and keep it up baxi.

Ask ten engineers and you will get ten different answers. It really comes down to the performance that the customer requires and their budget. Although, I have been pleasantly surprised with Ravenheat on the budget end of the spectrum and their customer service is great. I also enjoy working with Baxi as well and I've found the company to be good from a support perspective and the newer Alpha's are well designed too, but their aftercare is a bit hit and miss.

I have always rated Worcester Bosch either the i series or CDI models as being the best available. But of late I've been really impressed by the Baxi 600 and 800 models. The Baxi's are cheaper to buy, lighter and easier to handle and in my opinion perform quieter and get rads upto to temperature quicker, hot water performance is also better in my opinion. Baxi have improved their call out times and are certainly as good as Worcester.

Combination boilers are very much based on customer needs. If the customer needs high flow rates, Atag are unbeatable and include a 10 year warranty on all boilers. If a customer doesn’t need high flow rates then a Ideal or Baxi boiler should be considered. When we price we asses each customers needs. Ideal boilers range in price depending on the warranty length. (5, 7, 10 and 12year warranty) and the performance is outstanding for the price. The other option (baxi) are great little boilers, very nice laid out inside and again offer a range depending on customer needs.

here LP Plumbing and Heating Ltd we as a business have no affiliated interest with any manafacture and has fitted preety much every one of the current leading manafactures boilers out there but I'd have to go with an ideal vogue max or an ideal logic max. They are reliable, quiet, and come with great warranties, the vogue with a 12 year and the logic with a 10. They are extremely easy to fit and maintain, reasonably priced for build quality and have both can used with ideals own smart controls which are app controlled and connects with the likes of amazon Alexa etc. I believe there are many companies out there that are very good at marketing and people get get blinded by that, but for me it takes more than a good ad campaign.

I have installed almost every make of boiler on the market. my absolute favourite is the Baxi 600/ 800 range. up to a 10 year warranty with this range backed up by outstanding customer service. Brass manifold, stainless steel heat exchanger, one touch filling loop, easy to use and connect to via external controls. one great feature is a rainwater catchment tray inside the boiler. This will divert any rainwater which may enter the air intake on the flue directly to the condensate drain. This is something that most other manufacturers dont do. without this the water can damage the fan, gas valve and boiler electrics. very nice feature in my opinion.

The original Baxi duotec was a fantastic boiler and the 600/800 are modelled on this but are now a cupboard fit boiler and can run pipes down the back of the boiler with out using a stand of kit, very easy to install and commission. Ideal logic was always my second choice if a duotec could not fit in the space but now Baxi do the 600/800 I don’t need to use ideal anymore.

For me it’s a toss up between two boilers for me, one would be the Atag economiser with its FGR system and if you couple it with a Atag One controller you hit all requirements for boiler plus with a 10 year warranty it’s hard to beat. I’m not accredited by one brand so I’m unbiased. I quote for different boilers depending on the customer needs. However I do have a couple of personal favourites. So for me it’s between two... I like the Baxi 600 series for ease of installation, brass components, reliability and comes with a good warranty. My other would be the new and improved Alpha E-Tec plus. They have remodelled and added Honeywell and grundfos components. They have a combined condense and PRV for ease of installation. The Alpha is a low cost boiler which meets a lot of customers needs and budgets. Always good to have something like that in your back pocket.

Recommending the best boiler will depend on the specific requirements of each customer. Budget, number of radiators and number of bathrooms are just a few questions that will sway any recommendations. E.g If a customer wants a long warranty but doesn’t want to pay for a premium for it then you can’t go far wrong with the Baxi Platinum range. If a customer has had bad experience with customer service then they would perhaps be willing to pay a little more for piece of mind and Worcester could be the way to go. The length of the warranty is only relevant if they are happy to commit to an annual service and I have found some customers would neglect this after a few years but would have paid more for the boiler originally for the longer warranties. Some installers benefit more from specific brands so I always try to give impartial advice based on the customer requirements rather than steer them to a brand that may not be the best for them. I also try to provide a couple of options at different price points. Also ensure that you are receiving the latest advice, on combi boilers this is currently Boiler Plus. You need to ensure you are compliant with current regulations but also that any quotes you are comparing offer the same value and specifications. It’s not just the boiler you are buying, sometimes there will be magnetic filters to protect the boiler, TRVs for radiators and controls for heating (and possibly hot water). These can all vary greatly in price. Ensure you understand exactly what you are buying before committing.

I am a Baxi Member here at City Gas, and I would say that BAXI are the best combi boilers on the market. From an installer point of view its very installer friendly, especially when it comes to repairs & servicing. Its a nationally recognised brand and customers easily recognise the name when recommending a boiler. I have started recommending the 600 range as i find its a very quiet boiler that fits in kitchen cupboards and that alone is a selling point; not to mention 7 Years warranty; oh, also dont stop me from adding the technical helpline.Then if we look at the customers point of view, customers tend to think a combi swap costs thousands of pounds where as with a Baxi, i can do a 600 combi swap, same location for under £2K with a boiler plus compliant room stat and filter. Secondly, lets look at the Baxi breakdown service; I haven't had any customer have to call the warranty yet but im told response is within 24 hours (correct me if im wrong) which includes parts and labour subject to the boiler being under warranty. I could go on but I'll finish off on one of the best reason i say Baxi is the best boiler to install and this is because most already have Baxi's installed so installing another Baxi is like fitting a glove, it just slides on (minimal pipe work adjustments). As for the style of home this boiler is suitable for, I'd say a family house/homes with a lot of usage needs who are also looking for reliability. Price wise, for me to install a Baxi boiler it would cost £1,500 - £2,500 depending on actual work description.

I think that the Ideal 30 Plus is the best boiler on the market right now. It has a good 7 year warranty with good extras and I would usually install it into a family sized property. The Baxi Duo-tec 28 ERP combination boiler ticks all the boxes. It is a mid-priced boiler offering excellent value for money. It has a well established design making it very reliable and also benefitting from a long warranty with excellent customer service. It is easy for engineers to service and maintain. Alternatively, the Baxi Platinum is more or less the same boiler but with a longer warranty, so I also recommend that model. The only issue for some installations is that these boilers are 'standard-size' and will not fit into tight spaces that require a compact boiler. Combi boilers are a great solution in small to mid-sized properties where there is only one bathroom. The main consideration for combi boilers is the hot water performance. They are great when one hot tap is open, but flow rates reduce when more than one tap is open. I would charge £1200 for parts and £600 for labour (inc VAT).

Personally I like to fit Alpha boilers. They have a great build quality, they don’t use cheap parts, they can offer between 7-13 years warranty and are very competitive on price. With over 20 years experience installing, servicing and repairing boilers, I find the leading manufactures including Worcester-Bosch, Baxi and ATAG to be the most reliable boiler. Although what’s most important for myself and my customers is the aftercare that is offered. Therefore my preferred choice of boiler is Worcester-Bosch, I’ve always found their aftercare to be second to none, their guarantee really is a guarantee and they won’t wiggle out of it like some other manufacturers.

Viessmann have been world leaders in the commercial heating space for a long time, and European leaders for domestic boilers. They are not as well known in the UK, but that is changing fast. We feel that this is the best of the bunch when it comes to best combi boilers 2018. Between heating engineers and installers there is normally a lot of debate about which is the better brand between Worcester-Bosch and Viessmann. That’s because these two are the best boiler brands in the UK at the moment. Me personally, I don't think there is best combi boiler, The boilers I quote are usually what best for the location of the boiler, customers budget and the right spec for the property, bear in mind not all combi's are suitable for certain sized properties. The mains boilers I fit are Worcester, Vaillant and ATAG which I consider high range boilers then you have the likes of Glow-Worm and Baxi in the mid range and Alpha, Ariston and Heatline in the lower range. Most boiler now offer between 5-10 years warranty to give you peace of mind, but like all warranties they come with T&Cs which state the boilers must be serviced every year.

Personally I don’t feel there is such as thing as the best boiler only the best boiler for the specific situation. I am a Baxi Member at SJR GAS and think Vaillant offer the best boilers currently. As for the property style and customer I would recommend a Vaillant boiler to, I would say all properties and every customer. For me to install a Vaillant boiler, it would cost my customers £800. This would cover the labour but not the parts for the installation.

As a Baxi Accredited Installer, I think that the best boiler on the market is the Baxi 600 Combi boiler. I would install this particular boiler in a variety of family homes, for example a smaller family home with 1 bathroom 1 ensuite or a larger family home with 2 bathrooms 1 ensuite. For the install of this boiler I would charge £350 in labour costs, not including the price of the boiler itself.

This model is good value for money, comes with a 7 year warranty and I have also found it to be a reliable choice for my customers. I would typically install their boilers into two bathroom houses with a small family and the household must have sufficient mains water pressure and good instantaneous hot water on demand. In my opinion, here at Plumbing and Heating Preston Ltd, the best combi boilers on the market are the Baxi 630 for value and for money and the ATAG Economiser for its superior hot water flow rate. I would recommend the Baxi 600 for a range of small to medium sized houses or flats; and I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't made of money but who has the sense to want a decent product! In terms of installing these boilers, every install is completely different but on average, it would cost between £1,300+ and £2,000+ Depending on other works required.
