It depends upon the job, for example a small job would be between £25.00 per - £40.00 per hour. The best way to get an accurate cost would be to see the job, discuss the job with client then I would give a quote on how many days/hours material needs etc then an accurate quote/estimate can be given in writing with a full breakdown of what will take place to complete the works.

we feel it's always best to write down a list of job and do them in in one day based on a day rate, its value for money, we charge day rate but can charge single jobs, rates will be chargeable depending on the jobs that need doing. insurance downloadable on our website, www.999ds.co.uk

Anything between £40-£60 per hour, a handyman has a broad range of skills these days so really it depends which category of handyman is needed for the task, if it's to change a light bulb then it would just be a call out fee of £30, if it's to wire a light fitting then it would be £60 per hour, flat pack assembly for instance would be £40 per hour.

I usually charge £25 per hour or a day rate. However most jobs I will price on the job, rather than an hour or day rate. This is after a free site visit and meeting. A job price is usually a lot better depending on the job, for both the tradesman and the customer. If it is an emergency call out a £50 call out fee applies before work is started.

Depends on many factors, location, type of job, urgency etc. A one hour job would be charged at about £40 going up to a day rate of about £250. This is in the greater London area and for residential purposes. There are abovously always exceptions. I get a lot of last minute calls for little bits and bobs sometimes just changing a few lightbulbs etc so if I was in the area and could easily pop in then I'm usually happy to charge for a quick half hour £20 but I always remind customer that's the first hour is chargeable so best if they think of a few other little jobs to fill the time slot..... Something always pops up!

Firstly I would question whether you need a handyman or a multi-skilled builder. A handyman is a person carrying out tasks for payment that would be considered by most to be DIY type jobs, but where the customer doesn’t have the time to do it - repairing broken fences, gates etc, replacing a couple of broken paving slabs, changing a door lock, putting up shelving, assembling flat pack furniture, clearing gutters etc etc. For this kind of service expect to pay around £20 per hour plus the cost of materials. However if you need the creation of a patio area, the total replacement of a fence and posts, replacing soffits and fascias, alterations to internal spaces etc. You are actually looking for a tradesman. Expect to pay around £30 per hour or £200 per day plus the cost of any materials. Rubbish disposal is not cheap for professional trades and expect to pay between £100 and £200 for a skip depending on the size and the type of rubbish you intend to fill it with. I hope this helps, I’m always happy to provide free quotations to potential customers in the Staffordshire area.

Prior free quotation is reccomended for most jobs. Some jobs come will have a fixed rate. As an hourly rate I charge £23.50 per hour with an hour minimum. Any materials used are added to the Invoice with prior knowledge from the client so they know what the costs are upfront. Rubbish Disposal is also charged at the rates of the local trade waste centre.

My rate for general handyman and basic property maintenance is £35 for the first hour, £10 per half hour up to £175 for an 8 hour day. Larger jobs would require a 60% upfront deposit followed by 20% mid way and 20% on completion of job or full material cost upfront whichever is the greater.

I normally charge £35 per hour for small jobs requiring less than a day to complete, or I can offer either a daily rate or price for the whole job, plus materials. Price depends on what is required and area covered. I will normally work Week days, but can work weekends to accommodate customers needs, however this will be at a higher price.

We usually charge between £20ph and £25ph per man, however I am happier give a free estimate for the job, and often find the customers prefer this method. It gives both parties a clearer picture of costs and cannot be misinterpreted as with an hourly rate or day rate. All materials are itemised on estimates and charged on top of the labour rate.

(Only because I have children to look after).Quotes can be given if that is preferable and obviously any materials need will be changed on top.Certain jobs that I do have a flat fee laminate flooring starts a £10 a square meter and internal doors start at £50 per door.

Well i guess that all depends on what the job is. I normally charge a day or job rate if the job is big enough. Otherwise i would charge accordingly but don't normally like to charge by the hour. So i would say easier for the customer to have a few jobs needing doing then a date rate would be charged.

We charge £30 for the first hour (not including materials) and then £15 an hour after that. This is based on completing a few jobs at the same property. If, however, you were wanting anything that would take a day or more we would charge a day rate price which would be cheaper than charging per hour for the same job.

We would charge £38+vat for a minimum of two hours for providing a handy man service. This would not include materials required for the requested project and would only cover 1 man labour for the allotted time. If the works were deemed to be over two hour minimum, we would provide a quotation before proceeding.
