What is the average cost to rewire a house?
This is based on the requirements of the customer. so the price can vary quite a bit. Obviously 1 pendant and 1 twin socket in each room is a lot cheaper than the customer wanting recessed led lights and 4 twin sockets in each room. Housing requirements recommend a minimum of 1 pendant and three twin sockets in each room to cover modern living. Smoke alarms are added as part of building regulations. I have rewired properties from £3,000 to £16,000, based on the above information.
Where can LED lights be used in the home?
Every light in your home can be used with LED lamps. Pendant fittings can have replacement LED lamps fitted. Recessed lamps can also have LED lamps fitted or as a complete light (generally more expensive). If your looking to change a light, most now are LED. Less heat from these lights, less energy used, but can give you a brighter outlook. generally more expensive than a standard lamp, but will last for many years.
How long does it take to rewire a house?
Generally a house rewire could take from a week to three depending on the amount of sockets and lights required by the customer, types of floors and walls cables have to be installed. Time is taken up as furniture is moved, carpets lifted, so the floor boards can be raised and allow for cables to be installed. Then you have the reverse, plastering may be needed, and tidying up, all ready for the customer to return home. All this keeping as much power on as possible for the customer, bearing in mind they are still living in the property.
