Kevin arrived and solved every problem in a thorough and caring way. When other trades made promises and made a mess, I was put in touch with Kevin, and like a true professional, he solved all the problems with dedicated professionalism and he really cared about our needs. Kevin is a friendly person and we knew we were in safe hands. Every job he did, he discussed with us beforehand, explained what he was doing, and carried his work out with a thoroughness that is not common today. We had been let down in a big way with sloppy work from previous plumber and tiler and builder, Kevin came and solved everything, with his engineering skills, his ability to spot what was wrong, and give not only a solution, but the right solution for us . We would recommend his work to anyone, and we would recommend him as a person to anyone who wants a skilled tradesman that actually CARES about his customers.

My aim is to take away all the stress and worry of a project. I have coined the phrase “Ending your nightmares by building your dreams”. I am an excellent communicator, taking time to explain every aspect of the work, reassuring my clients that they can place their full trust in me, that I have their best interests at heart, both in terms of value and quality of workmanship.

Conservatory or extension - which is best and what are their pros and cons?
The 1st thing (and most important) to consider is what is the intended use of the space to be created. There is a third, much overlooked option - a solarium. If the space is to be a kitchen, then the only real choice is an extension as the new walls will be utilised for cabinetry. If however, the space is to be a dining space, the extension of an existing room or maybe a playroom then consider the the potentially huge variation in temperatures that is likely in a conservatory/orangery. If you have the luxury of having this space solely for the purpose of sitting and enjoying a draught free feeling of being outside (warmth of sunlight) then perhaps choose a Solarium, which has glazed walls yet retains a solid roof for less of a dynamic thermal change through the seasons.
How long does a thatched roof last?
There are dwellings in England where the base coat of thatch is over 500 years old, unless severely damaged by fire for example, only the outer most part of a thatched roof is replaced. You can be reasonably confident that a well thatched roof will last 50 years or more, there are factors such as angle of pitch that have influences over longevity though.
What is pebble dash render / pebbledashing?
Pebbledashing or as it’s known in Scotland - rough casting, is the process of applying a sand and cement rendered coating to a wall and before it drys taking small stones or aggregate chippings and throwing (dashing or casting) them at the wet render to slightly embed the stone in the surface so that it sticks to it. It is done to achieve a hard wearing weather shielding and the use of a coloured aggregate can achieve a more desirable aesthetic than flat painted render alone. Hope this helps

I employed Kevin to sort out an unfinished building project. It had previously been part badly done. Kevin came and immediately surveyed the job, identified the problems, and immediately could give the solutions to them. He included me in all. Within days Kevin had rectified and re done the job to high spec and did not stop until the job was finished to my approval. Absolute star and would recommend him to any building project of any kind, large or small. This man has a work ethos that is of the highest rating and his knowledge of all parts of building work of any kind, from electrical to plumbing, from building, to engineering, Kevin is of the highest intelligence. I would recommend him to all small or large jobs or developments.

Kevin saved my bacon!! I contracted a builder to do a simple garage conversion. Unfortunately, the quality of the work all round was rubbish. Kevin was recommended, he came and undid all the rubbish work , and did it all again, properly. He worked non stop, he has the ability to spot problem and solution, and explains thoroughly what the job needs and what he is doing, so customers are happy from start to finish. He has a great friendly personality, and genuinely cares about the client and customer. I would recommend Kevin to anyone, his engineering skills, his work ethos is second to none and he is a really good person. I can only thank him tremendously for his work.
