What is the average cost to rewire a house?

This is probably the most asked question by home owners and prospective buyers, my answer is how long is a piece of string? The truth is the price of a rewire all depends on the type of demand that is required by the installation, the types of fixtures and fittings requested by the client, diversity must be taken into account, network cable, cctv & intruder alarm systems, under floor heating the list goes on and on, the fact of it is , back in the day a property’s Electrical installation comprised of a few single sockets , lighting circuit , cooker point and Emerson heater, how easy life was back then, whereas in today’s modern home and with technology evolving at a rapid rate we finding ourselves living in more of a facility than a home, now this is not such a bad thing as we are only moving with the times but as the demand grows for more technology within our homes (facilities) so does the complexity of our Electrical installation so my answer to the question is.....
