Suggested from a request for recommendations on Facebook, Vic was an utter professional from the start. He is a lovely, friendly guy with a brilliant "can do" attitude which gave me great confidence in the work that he would be doing. He gave us a quick, reasonable and realistic quote, and once he started on the work he kept us informed throughout of his progress. He tidied up after himself every night (the place was spotless, I was gobsmacked!) and did a full day's work every day, starting around 8am and working up til 6pm (unlike some 10am - 4pm cowboys we've had before!). He worked alone on this job as his apprentice was on holiday, but still finished the job quickly and efficiently. We are over the moon with our new boiler - our heating has never been so efficient and our house has never been so warm! And the boiler does, as Vic promised, fit in a kitchen cupboard so we don't have to look at it unless we need to! I cannot praise Afterglow highly enough and wouldn't hesitate in recommending Vic to anyone for their plumbing needs. I will be asking him back to do some plumbing bits and pieces in our kitchen shortly, and will definitely book my boiler service with him next year. Thanks Vic, you were absolutely ace!

On first inspection I was told that the intermittent hot water from my boiler was likely to be a costly circuit board issue and that I might as well replace my whole boiler for £1,500 plus. Very happy with the new boiler. Everything fitted to a very high standard, including items that I'm sure other plumbers would have ignored (replacing part of the gas supply, fitting a different (more correct) type of flue, checking the other gas appliances for problems). I had three other quotes previously - two of which told me things that I'm sure aren't true and one leaving out necessary items (magnetic filter and thermostat). Couldn't recommend highly enough.

I was in urgent need of new central heating to be fitted in a maisonette that i had purchased, ready for letting ASAP i got in touch with Vic to quote me. He was able to fit me in after 2 weeks. Vic came to give us a quote & installed a new boiler when he said he would. It always amazes me that so many firms don't keep their time promises or even ring the customer if there is to be a delay. The quote was £500 cheaper than another quote we received. Installation was carried out in a professional manner, dust sheets were laid in the hall & stairs to minimise dirt/dust which they vacuumed up after installation. Although the new boiler has only just been fitted on the evidence to date we are very impressed with Vic & Afterglow & would certainly recommend them to our family & friends.

I have used afterglow before to fit and service my existing boiler. Im currently in the process of moving house so asked vic to do a gas safety /home buyers survey on my new property. This was undertaken quickly and the report emailed to me within an hour of it being completed. After 6 months of issues with pressure loss and performance issues I found afterglow. A series of other engineers have failed to solve the issues. Afterglow were thorough and took steps to investigate the whole system. They were transparent with each step, explained costs and went above and beyond to solve the issue. My system is now working better than ever, as well as being protected from future issues. I will be using this company for all my plumbing and heating work in future!

Great job from vic, solved various plumbing problems that I have been putting off. Came at a time to suit me too which was great. He fitted a new boiler for me last year which works great and saved me 400 quid in a year compared to my old one. I highly recommend using afterglow

We have used Afterglow over several years for jobs such as installing a new central heating boiler, replacing radiators, annual servicing etc. We cannot fault the professionalism and care that is taken from; assessing the work to be undertaken and agreeing an action plan to completion, always within the agreed time frame. Communication is excellent and there are never any 'hidden' surprises when we are invoiced for the work. We highly recommend Afterglow for any plumbing and heating work.

We needed a gas boiler installed for our home before we put it on the rental market. Afterglow provided a fair quotation on two boilers for us. Once we had agreed we had a wait of about 2 weeks and the job was completed in a day. We are really happy with the end result and the service provided. Definite value for money!

My boiler is pretty old, I did have cover with British Gas and when it broke down I called them out, they charged me for replacing the inspection glass and a call out. I spoke to vic and he came out the next day, as the boiler was soo old he had a job undoing some of the connections, but he managed it, fixed the problem and solved a leak I had on it aswel all for less then British Gas charged for their call out when they couldn't fix it! Couldn't recommend enough, very nice guy and I'll defo recommend to my mates if needed!

Victor fitted a new boiler and replaced a radiator in my daughters house. Having seen how efficient and professional he was I asked him to replace thermostats to each of my six radiators. This job was carried out very efficiently with the minimum of disruption. Victor also took the time to teach me how to use my control unit to regulate the temperature of the radiators.I am afraid I have little knowledge of these but Victor took time and patience until he was satisfied that I could manage even though he had not installed it. Work was carried out professionally and with minimal disruption and was reasonably priced. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services to the community.

My old boiler was playing up and I knew I needed a new one. Vic came round ( already used him before to fix my loo) and helped me to decided exactly WHAT I WANTED, not the other way round. A detailed quote and final price was agreed and was given a copy. We set a date,and was texted the conformation time a couple of days before the date. Vic came on time,started straight away. There was a little problem of a slight leak( was well within gas guide lines). But viv carried on to search for it,and eventually found it in some old pipes. What a professional. He worked so tidy,and the kitchen was spotless when he left( must have been a woman in a privous life!) Was so happy with the work done and the price, would recommend him to everyone.

I received a phone call from my tenant that there was a problem with the boiler, so i called Vic for a call out which was that day, boiler could not be repaired as parts was needed and to be priced. Vic phoned me the next day with the price and we both agreed it would be pricey to repair an old boiler that on line had bad reviews, I agreed a price on which i was happy with and had a new one installed with a 7 yr warranty, happy days :) all work carried out was to high standard and any mess was cleaned up. My tenant was happy with all work carried out. Vic also has done many jobs for me in my own property and i would highly recommend Afterglow Plumbing. Thanx Vic.

We had ongoing problems with our mains fed shower not maintaining temperature. We had a heating system maintenance policy with Scottish Power who's service was abysmal and the staff incompetent (We have since terminated this policy). They told us there was nothing wrong with the boiler so at great expense and Inconvenience we got the shower thermostat changed which did not help. Afterglow pluming & heating first of all though the shower was broken so they changed the whole shower but this did not sort out the problem and they eventually traced it back to a an issue with the boiler circuit board and heat exchanger. To their total credit they did not charge us a single penny for the whole days work they had done on the shower and diagnosing the boiler problem. Two days latter as promised they fitted a new boiler. In addition, when they gave us a quote for this work, they stuck to it even though the had to pay more to get a different boiler on time as the one they quoted for was unavailable. Words do not express fully how refreshingly honest I found afterglow pluming. I would fully recommended them to anyone and i have already booked them in to do our annual service plan for the next 10 years ! Of course, he is also an entirely competent gas/heating engineer. We had a full central heating system fitted to a first floor maisonette and are very pleased with the job. His quote was good value. Although it was not quite the lowest that we had, we are sure that we made the right choice. We would recommend Afterglow without reservation.

Vic was asked to replace our old boiler with a new one and flush all the radiators within the house as many were cold, even when the old heating system was on. Vic installed a new boiler and did the power flushing within the dates and times he specified always very polite and clean. The house is now lovely and warm and ready for the coming winter months, I will be using Vic again for any future works as his knowledge for his chosen profession is vast.

Our boiler of 20 years plus finally packed up. Vic was recommended to us and we were so glad he was. He offered to find the parts on eBay if we wanted to repair the existing boiler but his pricing on installing a new boiler with 7 year guarantee was so good we went for a new one. Fitted last weekend and has worked perfectly since. Highly recommend afterglow for either fitting a new boiler or just repairing and servicing an existing one
